Fergusons Trucks rebrand by Transform - branded truck

FERGUSONS TRANSPORT

Fergusons Transport is the largest privately owned haulier in the North East, with a legacy stretching back nearly 100 years. From a single bean truck in 1926 to an industry-leading logistics provider, Fergusons has always been a business rooted in hard work, innovation and family values.
As part of their bold step into the future, Fergusons became a key partner in the UK Government’s Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstration programme alongside Nissan Motor Corporation. A collaborative project, together they introduced a brand-new fleet of 100 percent electric, zero-emission HGVs – a move that marks a significant milestone in both sustainability and brand evolution.
With the introduction of the zero-emission fleet, the business were keen to highlight their progress and future-thinking approach while remaining true to their heritage, values and existing brand. The challenge and task to capture that effectively in the design of the new fleet.

The Transform team were brought in to support the development of the new vehicle design – an exciting brief and a brilliant opportunity to bring the brand to life in a different way. The focus very much about creating a look and feel that would communicate bold progress and modern thinking, whilst still feeling unmistakably “Fergusons.”
We immersed ourselves in the business story and values, working closely with Alan Ferguson OBE and the internal team to ensure the creative choice reflected the professionalism and personality of the business alongside the eco credentials and progressive style of the new fleet.
The end result? A standout vehicle livery that’s not just eye-catching but representative of a business driving forward with clarity, purpose and pride. And we are not going to lie but seeing the finished HGVs in person was a true pinch-me moment.

LEGACY MEETS LEADERSHIP

This was more than a design project. It was a reminder of what brand transformation really means – using design and storytelling to connect the past and future with tradition and innovation. To think that Alan’s grandfather once took a leap of faith to sell his house in 1926 to buy a bean truck (see pictured) and set up what is currently the North East’s largest privately owned haulier business. And now nearly a century later, Fergusons is leading the way in sustainable logistics.

Now that’s a story worth telling!
